Camp Good Days provides residential camping programs and year-round support activities at no cost to participants. This initiative is a beacon of hope, helping to regain what illness has taken from so many. The Legacy of Camp Good Days
Founded in 1979 by Gary Mervis, Camp Good Days emerged from a father’s love for his daughter, Teddi, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Understanding the loneliness and isolation faced by children battling cancer, Gary created a sanctuary where young ones could connect with peers navigating similar journeys. Today, this organization stands as a testament to Teddi’s legacy and the relentless spirit of all those fighting against cancer and sickle cell anemia.
Who We Serve
Camp Good Days extends its services to children with cancer, those who have a parent or sibling with cancer, or have lost a loved one to the disease. Remarkably, it also welcomes participants not just from New York but from across the globe, embracing children from all 50 states and over 36 countries. The programs cater to various needs, from residential camps for young children and teenagers to supportive retreats for whole families and adult cancer survivors.

Its programs—spanning from day camps in Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse to overnight retreats on the serene shores of Keuka Lake—offer a plethora of activities designed to foster strength, joy, and resilience.
